TIS Summer Camp 2010

Once again we are happy to announce the TIS Summer Camp 2010. We would love to welcome your child to the highlight of their year! We hope that our Camp will be a wonderful experience for your child, full of fun and lasting friendships. We intend to make our summer camp a wonderful memory for participants. Our beautiful campus enables us to offer a variety of sports, games, cultural activities, arts and crafts, activities that provide all with great new experiences, great leaders, and great equipment. In addition to the onsite activities, we have also planned a variety of field trips to interesting and fun places. TIS will tailor this proposed summer program to meet the most number of needs and desires of the children.

Staff members are chosen for their enthusiasm, creativity and leadership skills. We will do our best to provide all children with a safe and enjoyable Summer Camp experience. All Summer Camp staff have had previous camp experience and demonstrated leadership skills.

Dates Available
June 14 – July 9. First session
July 12 – August 6. Second Session

Sign up:
· Register your child or children with the School Office and complete the application forms in advance to confirm your place.
· Sign up during check in. There is no deadline for acceptance. We accept students at any stage during the camp for any length of participation.

$250 a month per child

Lunch

8:45 am-3:00 pm
$400 a month per child

ELL program (optional)
10:15am-11:15am
$200 per month per child

Lunch Program (optional)
12:15pm-12:45pm 
$5 per day per child

Camp Program

Our program is divided into age groups whenever possible. The following are some of the activities for this summer. This list is tentative and subject to change.

ELL Program (optional)

This year TIS Summer Camp offers an English Language Program. Offered as an hour long lessons every morning, and taught by highly qualified and experienced ELL teacher, this 4 week program is designed to help your child learn English as a Foreign Language. This program is recommended for students wanting to improve their abilities in reading, writing, grammar, and communication. 

Arrival – Departure

Our staff will meet you, the parent and child, at the gate of Tashkent International School at 8:45 and see students off at the gate for departure at 12:45 (for half day students) and 3:00 (for full day students).

Field trips

Several field trips to the Aqua Park, Tashkent land, the Zoo, Ulughbek Amusement Park, and train museum are planned for the Friday afternoons. Permission slips will be sent home with participants for parents to sign, three days prior to the trip. Entrance fees will be covered by the Summer Camp. Students should have some pocket money with them for any additional expenses.

Attire and Things to Bring

Be prepared for the outdoors! The following items are highly recommended and may be necessary for a particular activity.
Swimsuit
Towel
Comfortable shoes
Sunscreen
Bagged snack
Bagged lunch
Water bottle
Preferred cartons of juice (no sodas please)
Hat/ baseball cap
Extra T-shirt and shorts (to wear after the water games)

Scholarship Program at TIS

Calling all interested applicants for the 2010-2011 academic year


Full-tuition scholarships are available for students who:
- will complete Grade 9 or 10 by June 2010
- earn 4’s and 5’s in their local schools
- are proficient in English and possess strong reading, writing and analysis skills
- are prepared to study at TIS until graduation and will graduate before the age of twenty
- would be financially unable to attend TIS if the 100% scholarship were not available
- successfully complete the screening and interview process
